About The 10-Series

Kristine studied the Rolf Method 10-series at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute, in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Ida Rolf created the 10 series as a pioneer in her day and age. She researched osteopathy, yoga, chiropractic work, and  alternative healing modalities in order to create what is known as the 10-series Structural Integration, in the 1940's. In 1989, the Rolf Institute split and gained the rights to Dr. Ida Rolf's last name as a brand. Anyone who both goes to the school in addition to  paying a yearly fee can use that term, but the work itself is Structural Integration. To learn more about SI, feel free to click on the video and article, as well as read an overview of the 10- series below. Sessions 1-3: Superficial            Sessions 4-7: Core            Sessions 8-10: Integrative

SESSION 1- BREATH: In this session we address the shoulder and pelvic girdle muscles and superficial layer of fascia in order to create space for more breath in the way that your body uniquely needs.

SESSION 2 - SUPPORT: In this session we address lower legs and feet. We are working together to create full capacity of movement in the 3 arches of the foot so that their support can bring function to the rest of your body.

SESSION 3 - LATERAL LINE: In this session we address the SG and PG along the side body to create balance in the relationship of the upper and lower body. Here, we prepare the body for the Core phase of the series.

SESSION 4 - CENTRAL LINE: In this session we address the the inner line of the leg from the bottoms of the feet to the sits bones, allowing the legs to move freely from the pelvis and access support from the spine.

SESSION 5 - PSOAS: In this session we address the thorax and pelvis as we work with the abdomen muscles and the Psoas. Here, we are continuing to create the ability to access these areas for support in movement.

SESSION 6 - SACRUM: This session is prone on the table. Here, we are addressing the legs and lower to mid-back as well as muscular and tendinous attachments at the sacrum in order to create full range of movement.

SESSION 7 - THE HEAD: In this session, we revisit necessary areas around the thorax and neck. The main event in this session is the muscles of the face and head. We are encouraging the head to participate in gait.

SESSION 8/9 - INTEGRATION: In these two sessions we are continuing our work to create movement from the spine in gait. One session is mostly upper body, the other, lower. The order is determined in the 8th session.

SESSION 10 - ClOSURE: In this session we work superficially while asking for movement on the table to reenforce that all layers are moving freely across joints and making healthy connections throughout the body.

**ALL WORK IS DONE WITH YOUR CONSENT BEFORE AND THROUGHOUT THE SESSION. YOUR COMFORT LEVEL AND PERSONAL NEEDS ARE ALWAYS FIRST PRIORITY CONCERNING THE TERRITORY.
